Contributions of the Desert Fathers to the Enneagram Tradition
Contributions of the Desert Fathers to the Enneagram Tradition
About Workshop
The movement of the Desert Fathers – the first monks of Christianity, – historically began in the 4th century and reached its peak up to the 7th century.
From a profound spiritual search, this generation of therapists left us a legacy of rich observations about the emotional states of the human soul, forming the Doctrine of Passions and the Doctrine of Virtues. These contribute to and enrich our understanding of Personality and Essence in the Enneagram. Moreover, they also left us therapeutic pathways to integrate Personality and Essence, such as the Gatekeeper Technique and other exercises for integrating the complexity of human nature.
At this presentation, Domingos Cunha, a progressive Portuguese Catholic Priest residing in Brazil, will specifically address this contribution. An avid researcher of the Desert Fathers tradition and a prolific Enneagram teacher and author, Domingos will share revealing old perspectives of both the Enneagram passions and Virtues
